The OTs-03 SVU is a bullpup configuration of the SVD sniper rifle . The SVU was developed to meet the ongoing needs of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs security forces such as the FSB and MVD . The SVU was first used in the Chechen War. Originally, it was planned to only slightly modernize the aging SVD, but designers eventually realized that the configuration of the weapon would need to be completely changed. In use, the SVU is much more compact than the SVD, but retains the same barrel length for accuracy and also allows the rifle to be operated with one hand.
The SVU Sniper Rifle AEG from AirSoft Pioneer is made of metal and polymer like the original.
The body with top cover, outer barrel, iron sights, bipod, fire selector lever and all small parts are made of metal . The handguard and stock as well as the grip are made of robust polymer.
The height of the rest is designed for the use of a telescopic sight. The flash hider in the form of a silencer is designed in an absolutely characteristic way.
The ASP SVU Sniper offers a side mounting rail for mounting rifle scopes or corresponding adapters.
The reinforced V3 gearbox is equipped with steel gears and 7 mm steel bearings as well as a powerful short type motor that delivers a whopping 400 fps out of the box.
The massive 650 mm barrel and the finely adjustable hop-up contribute to the extremely convincing out of the box performance of this sniper AEG.
