The Kugelschnepper , also known as the Balester crossbow , is a light crossbow from the late Middle Ages and the Renaissance, which was mainly used for bird and small game hunting. Unlike conventional crossbows, the Kugelschnepper does not fire bolts, but smaller projectiles such as clay balls (so-called Schusser), stones or lead bullets.
Features:
The way the bullet shooter works is comparatively simple: the double string is pulled backwards with both hands until the back of the bullet pocket is hooked into the hook of the trigger lock. By pulling the trigger, the hook is released and the bullet previously placed in the pocket is fired.
