The FX Impact M4 Standard PCP AirGun is the fourth generation of what is now probably the most successful all-round PCP of all time. This ultra-precise and multi-adjustable PCP air rifle has a modular base that makes it suitable for virtually any shooting discipline. From benchrest shooting to hunting and everything in between.
Compared to its predecessor, the Impact M3, some radical and some more subtle changes have been made to take the FX Impact M4 to an even higher level while improving usability.
But what exactly has changed compared to the Impact M3?
New AMP MKIII Regulator: The Dual Regulator System has made room for a single AMP MKIII regulator with brass piston. This makes it stronger and more consistent, as well as offering a higher refill flow. In addition, this single regulator is more than capable of withstanding high working pressures up to an impressive 170 bar (2500 psi).
New top plate with 11 mm dovetail rail: The FX Impact M4 has a redesigned top plate. The plate is thicker, which gives the entire air rifle more rigidity, and it now features a longer dovetail rail, which allows you to slide the 30 MOA Picatinny rail exactly where you want it.
Quick Set Trigger Unit: The entire trigger unit is new in every way. Since the FX Impact M4 is a universal platform, FX has thought about how to adjust and refine the trigger to suit all types of shooting. When hunting, you need a predictable, long trigger pull, while sport shooters prefer a feather-light trigger with a refined, glass-like break point. With the Quick Set Trigger, you only need to adjust a single screw to switch between the two variants. Both levels are adjustable, while the trigger blade is adjustable in height and rotation.
Power Plenum 750: With a regulated air buffer of 75 cc, the FX Impact M4 has enough air behind the valve to deliver plenty of power. Enough to give even the heaviest bullets the perfect velocity. The large capacity of the plenum also allows for lower regulator pressure than with a smaller plenum.
Adjustment Options: The FX Impact AirGun has always been known for being adjustable on many levels, so it's no surprise that the FX Impact M4 can be fine-tuned left, right and center. We've already mentioned the adjustable regulator, but that's far from all the adjustment options this gun offers. The power knob on the front, just above the air tank inlet, allows you to adjust the preload of the valve spring. When you turn it counterclockwise, indicator rings appear, and the more rings you see, the more air is allowed through.
On the left side of the system, the preload of the hammer spring can be adjusted using the Quick Tune System . The preload can be set in 16 large steps (5-15 fps or 1.5-4.5 m/s) using a macro dial, and then fine-tuned using the micro dial (1-2 fps or 0.3-0.6 m/s). The higher the preload, the more air is allowed through and the faster the projectile is propelled.
And then there is the dual hole transfer port in the barrel, which is present on most calibers. This means that the barrel has two openings on opposite sides that allow air to flow in. The small opening, marked with a 'P', is perfect for use with pellets. If the barrel is rotated 180 degrees, there is a larger opening in front of the port, which allows for more airflow (and therefore more power) for heavier bullets, such as shotgun slugs. This is why it is marked with an 'S'.
STX Barrel: FX uses liners inside their barrels, with the rifling pressed in from the outside. This creates a very smooth internal surface with minimal friction. An added benefit is that the liners can be quickly swapped out for a different caliber or ammunition type. The only thing that also needs to be changed is the bullet probe.
Adjustable buttstock: The buttstock of the FX Impact M4 is height adjustable. This can be done continuously by loosening a screw on the right side. This allows the perfect shooting position to be achieved for every posture. The buttstock has a comfortable concave shape with plenty of grip.
UG1 Grip: To take the comfort and feel of the airgun to a new level, the FX Impact M4 is equipped with a new UG1 grip (AR15 style), which has a more defined ergonomic shape and non-slip contact surfaces.
High-capacity magazine: The magazine has also been renewed with new, stronger materials to increase durability. The internal mechanism has been optimized to allow the pivot center to rotate smoothly and safely even with the heaviest bullets.
Accessory Rails: In addition to the dovetail-mounted 30 MOA Picatinny rail, the FX Impact M4 now also features two Picatinny accessory rails on the sides. There is also a Picatinny rail on the bottom, which is perfect for mounting a bipod.
Ambidextrous Cocking Handle: The cocking handle has a comfortable large knob and is located on the right side of the FX Impact M4. However, for those who prefer the lever on the left side of the PCP air rifle, the lever can easily be flipped over to the other side.
Please note: The FX Impact M4 is delivered in an average tuned state for average use. The maximum performance stated in the specifications can be achieved by utilizing the wide range of adjustment options on this air rifle.
